EBOO: The Blood Protocol Redefining Longevity
By Kenneth Bordewick | Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors | ÖND | Life's Breath™ · In clinical collaboration with Dr. Thom Lobe MD and Dr. Fouad I. Ghaly MD

Scientists at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam published a finding in 2022 that changed the parameters of what longevity medicine must now address: microplastics were present in the blood of 77 per cent of all human subjects tested. Not in polluted communities. Not in industrial workers. In ordinary people, living ordinary lives, in ordinary homes. The body is being contaminated at the molecular level — and the primary vector is not the factory floor. It is the home.
This is the clinical reality from which EBOO — Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation — proceeds. It is not a wellness trend. It is a precise, physician-administered blood filtration protocol, championed in clinical practice by Dr. Thom Lobe MD and Dr. Fouad I. Ghaly MD, that addresses what daily modern life deposits in the blood: synthetic polymer particles, heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants, and inflammatory compounds that the body's own filtration systems — the liver, kidneys, and lymphatic network — were never designed to process at this concentration or frequency.
At Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors, principal designer Kenneth Bordewick and the ÖND | Life's Breath™ programme are built upon a single, clinically-substantiated premise: that EBOO, administered in isolation from an intentionally designed home environment, is a magnificent intervention in an unresolved system. The protocol purifies. The home determines whether that purity holds.
The architectural and material principles that govern this approach are explored in depth within our Quiet Luxury Wellness Design framework, and the evidence base for each design specification is documented at our Wellness Design Principles page.
The Science Behind EBOO
EBOO draws blood from the body through an intravenous circuit and passes it across a specialised haemofiltration membrane — a precision instrument capable of removing particulates that neither the liver nor kidneys can effectively eliminate under chronic modern toxic burden. The filtered blood is then exposed to controlled concentrations of medical-grade ozone and oxygen before being returned to the body.
The mechanisms engaged are multiple and well-documented. Ozone contact with blood plasma initiates the controlled oxidation of pathogenic microorganisms and disrupts the inflammatory cytokine cascades responsible for systemic inflammation. It upregulates the body's endogenous antioxidant systems — catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase — restoring a biochemical environment in which cellular repair can occur at its natural rate. Mitochondrial efficiency improves measurably. Oxidative stress biomarkers decline. Patients report cognitive clarity, physical energy, and sleep quality that they have not experienced in years.
“The home a client inhabits for twenty-three hours each day is either the ally of every clinical protocol they invest in — or its most persistent adversary. At Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors, we design exclusively for the former.”
— Kenneth Bordewick, Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors
The Physician Partnership
Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors does not administer medical treatment. Kenneth Bordewick is a designer — the most precise and consequential distinction between a design firm and a wellness programme. What BHLI offers is architectural and material design informed by clinical evidence, and a formal partnership with physicians of extraordinary standing.
Dr. Thom Lobe MD is a board-certified paediatric surgeon with decades of integrative medicine practice at Beneveda Medical Group in Beverly Hills. Dr. Fouad I. Ghaly MD brings deep expertise in integrative and functional medicine, including extensive clinical experience with ozone-based therapies. Together, they inform every BHLI residential specification where biological consequence is at stake — and in a home designed to sustain EBOO results, every specification carries that weight.
This partnership is not a credential offered to reassure. It is a working clinical collaboration in which the design and medical disciplines are genuinely integrated — each informing the other in service of a client's longevity.
Designing the EBOO-Sustaining Home
Air as Medicine
Every EBOO patient breathes approximately 15,000 litres of air per day at home. In a standard luxury interior — synthetic carpet, composite joinery, polyester upholstery, conventional paint — that air carries a continuous load of microplastic fibres, volatile organic compounds, and formaldehyde. BHLI specifies H14-grade HEPA filtration, the standard of pharmaceutical cleanrooms, integrated architecturally into the home's systems. The patient who breathes this air is sustaining the protocol with every breath.
Material Purity as Protocol
Synthetic textiles shed microplastic fibres into the air and onto skin surfaces across decades of use. BHLI specifications replace every synthetic material with natural alternatives: organic linen and wool textiles, natural mineral plasters, solid quarried stone, untreated hardwoods, and zero-VOC natural finishes. The home that does not generate polymer particles does not require the body to process them. This is prevention at the architectural scale.
Circadian Alignment and Cellular Repair
The cellular regeneration that EBOO initiates depends upon deep, uninterrupted sleep for its most profound expression. BHLI's circadian lighting protocols — tunable warm-spectrum illumination after dusk, complete suppression of short-wavelength blue light, and architectural EMF shielding of sleep environments — create the biological conditions for melatonin production and deep sleep architecture. The patient who sleeps in an ÖND-designed bedroom is sleeping in a room engineered to complete what the protocol begins.
The Quiet Luxury of Invisible Excellence
There is no visible evidence, in a Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors residence, of the biological sophistication embedded within its walls, floors, and atmosphere. The H14 filtration is concealed within the architectural fabric. The EMF shielding is integrated into the envelope. The water system delivers pure hydration through bespoke fixtures of uncompromising beauty. The natural materials and mineral plasters that eliminate off-gassing are, in their own right, the most beautiful surfaces available to a designer of Kenneth Bordewick's experience.
This is the defining proposition of Quiet Luxury Wellness Design as practised by Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors: that the highest biological performance and the highest aesthetic refinement are not competing values. They are, in the hands of the right designer and the right physician partners, the same thing.
Begin Your Longevity Home Wellness Design Audit
Is your home designed to sustain and amplify your EBOO protocol — or to work against it? The Longevity Home Wellness Design Audit by Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors and ÖND | Life's Breath™ delivers a comprehensive, physician-informed assessment of your home's biological environment: air purity, material contamination, water quality, EMF exposure, and circadian alignment. For those investing in advanced blood filtration therapy, this audit ensures that investment is not being quietly reversed at home.
